Human verification when it matters most

Withdrawals are where layered security matters most. Swan Vault Plus adds a layer of live video verification, human review, and automatic relocking, providing a final safeguard before assets leave your account.

How it works:

• A baseline video verification establishes identity upfront

• Live video confirmation is required for Bitcoin withdrawals via the Vault dashboard

• After verification, withdrawals are unlocked for a fixed window, then automatically relocked

• Designed to protect against account takeovers, scams, coercion, and irreversible errors

Vault Plus adds a deliberate human checkpoint before Bitcoin leaves a client’s control, giving clients an additional layer of verification for maximum peace of mind.

Improved signing hardware, without forcing upgrades

Going forward, all new Swan Vault welcome packages will include Blockstream Jade Plus signing devices.

Jade Plus builds on the same proven security foundations as the original Jade Classic, with improvements focused on usability:

• A larger, higher-resolution display

• Updated physical controls

• Easier review of transaction details and navigation

Just as important, nothing breaks for existing clients. There is no requirement to upgrade, and Swan Vault will continue to fully support Jade Classic devices. Long-term custody systems should evolve carefully, without forcing unnecessary changes or invalidating setups that already work.

A clear and supported recovery path

Serious self-custody means planning for edge cases.

Devices fail. Keys get misplaced. People move, pass away, or need help years later. Recovery should never depend on improvisation.

The Swan Vault Recovery Assistant is a Swan-built application designed specifically to help Vault clients recover funds if recovery is ever required.

The Recovery Assistant allows clients to:

• Independently sweep funds from their Swan Vault

• View balances and transaction history

• Recover across Mac, Windows, and Linux

This becomes the primary Swan-supported recovery path for Vault clients. The open-source Specter project remains supported, but the goal is clarity: there should always be a documented, tested, and supported way forward.
